Hello to all.

I am delighted to see the "Stan Rogers Show" being appreciated by the
audiences it attracts. It's particularly meaningful to me to read of the
"Mapleposters" attending and enjoying the show. I agree with all the praise
for Stan's writing, Paul Mill's arranging, and the acting. I wish I could
see the show. I might get to see it actually, if I take a night off from The
Lion King.
At this juncture I part from Donna Creighton's point of view. I guarantee
that the $93.00 spent on a Lion King ticket is worth it. It is expensive,
but a person should really take a look at what a production offers before
dismissing it out of hand. Let's get real. Now that Stan's music is out
there in the theatre world we should all hope that the people who go to
productions like Mama Mia and Lion King as a matter of routine might take a
chance and see A matter of Heart as something different. Surely we can allow
that it would be a good thing if some folks who saw "the Stan Show" might
get interested in musical theatre and go to see something like The Lion King
(and maybe enjoy it!?)
"A kitten that never existed"? I dunno. Check out the last twenty novels
you've read. Who existed and who didn't?
There really is a lot of great musical theatre out there. It's a form
that's becoming more and more relevant and useful as a way to present
stories and as we the audience ages and matures we want professional
presentations and soft seats. Dismissing the "big time" doesn't help the
cause. Without the Mirvishes, Disneys, Drabinskys of this world paving the
way, Stan's show would not likely see the light of day.

Still just a picker (with attitude) at heart,

Rick
