Just a reminder that I will be performing on Sat. August 5 at the Mill
Race Festival of Traditional Folk Music, held in historic downtown
Cambridge.

My first set is at 10:30am with bassist/accompanist, Robin
Shaw-Lukavsky, at the Market Square. We perform again on the Children's
Stage at 1pm and 3pm, and I will be involved in two workshops at 4pm and
6pm at the Goldem Kiwi and Black Badger pubs.

Biography: Eddie Douglas - singer/songwriter

Described by his peers as "a sensitive and intelligent songwriter
and an equally talented musician", Eddie Douglas is a versatile acoustic
finger-style guitarist whose work is rooted in traditional and
contemporary folk styles. In recent years, Eddie (originally from
Glasgow, Scotland) has appeared at a variety of music venues and
community festivals throughout Southwestern Ontario, both solo and in
duo with Guelph vocalist, Brenda Lewis. He has gained recognition for
his "warm and emotive voice, delicate guitar playing, and thoughtful
musical settings", while his vibrant original ballads and arrangements
of the works of such poets as Robert Burns, Christina Rossetti, and
Robert Louis Stevenson signify "an important measure of care and
nurturing for the landscape of the imagination that Eddie brings to his
work."

Eddie's programme of songs for children showcases a growing repertoire
of memorable original compositions as well as some tuneful adaptations
of children's verse and traditional songs of the British Isles. Eddie is
presently recording his first CD - a selection of poems by award-winning
Canadian author, Dennis Lee, that he has crafted into a delightful
collection of songs.

His musical interpretations of these quirky and imaginative poems are a
standout feature of his current performances, and are guaranteed to have
everyone quickly singing along! He will be joined on the children's
stage at Mill Race by bassist, Robin Shaw-Lukavsky.
