Hi All
I thought I'd let you know about something new I've added to my catalogue at
TrueFire.com. It's a series of articles that I hope will be helpful to
songwriters in writing more powerful, effective lyrics by usinbg proven
techniques and language skills. The following is the direct link to the
first set of articles.
http://truefire.com/reference/item/2811
And, no, I'm not going to announce each set of articles as I post them, just
this first one. If anyone likes the first set and would like to be
notified, please let me know off list and I'll make up a private mailing
list for this purpose.
Since TrueFire gives you ten bucks to sign up and I'm just asking a dollar
for each set of articles, it means you can get your first ten sets (20
articles plus 10 shorter tips) for free.
If you're interested, here's the description of the articles that I have
posted at the site:
"We each bring a different set of tools to our role as songwriter. Some have
a strong background in musical theory. Some are great storytellers. Some
have a natural feel for the way language connects with music. Some just have
a sense from experience as a performer of what works in a song and what does
not.
"Most of us, however, have an incomplete set of tools and are constantly
learning new skills to improve our songwriting ability. In this series of
articles (lessons, if you will), I hope to provide a few tools you may find
useful to bring more power to your songs.
"Here are the methods poets have used for centuries to hook their readers or
listeners with powerful, emotional language. These are all techniques that,
with a bit of practice, you can apply to your writing. Each package will
include two full articles plus, instead of the sample, a free tip for
songwriters.
"I hope you will find these articles both informative and helpful. All this
material is, of course, copyright © R. D. MacKenzie."
Peace and Love.
