	YIKES!!!  Unfounded and unfair.  "Art" is no more rooted in "artifice" than
"ore" is in "orifice."  And I STRONGLY resent the rest of that sentence --
it smacks of the musical snobbery usually accredited to "my kind" (classical
musicians) -- and seems to imply that "artful" music lacks both "integrity
and sincerity."

	As someone who has taken the time to learn how to play and appreciate both
"art" and "popular" styles, I have to say that no group's snobbery is more
justifiable than the other -- there are both phonies and sincere
communicators in both scenes (references available upon request <grin>).
