PS - I do not hesitate for one moment to include the following article on
Mike (and Raymond) which appears in today's Ottawa Citizen under the
heading "Music Man", eloquently written by Paul McKay. In a nutshell, Mike
has been involved with the communities such as Goose Bay and Davis Inlet
,in Northern Labrador, since he heard of the plight of the gas sniffing
kids, and music is the ingredient he has introduced to these kids offering
them laughter, hope and a sense of worth. Raymond has joined him for two of
his four trips and both donate their time for this cause.
"They have seen the worst -- sexual abuse, alcoholism, drugs, suicide. So
imagine what they're feeling inside. Then imagine what kind of music can
come from that pain. If they can get it out, that would be unbelievable."
