Thank you all for your banjo responses. The search is over.
As banjo was my first instrument (after piano and ukelele) I have an abiding
affection for the ol' "tamborine-on-a-stick". If only I had heard Béla
earlier in my career, instead of the Kingston Trio, perhaps I wouldn't have
had to bother with that pesky sixth string on the guitar for all these
years...

Great to know that there is this on-line community that will come to the aid
of a producer on occasion.

My very best to you all for a melodious new year.
