The Ottawa project entitled September was donated to the American Embassy,
and many copies given to the Red Cross directly. We also received
sponsorships from Algonquin College and Opseu 415 (the college teachers
union), as well as Precision Transfer Technologies to underwrite all costs.
They in turn used their media contacts to garner attention for the project.
I myself have but 1 copy left.
There may be radio stations in the States which would take Tears under
their wing as a 'good will' activity. They get the master and the rights to
sell in their listenership area. They take responsibility to manufacture,
collect and deliver the money. They do it as a ready made project that
makes a statement.
Here in Ottawa we referred to September, when we handed it over to the
Counselor, this way:
While others have expressed their grief over the tragedy by placing
bouquets outside of the US embassy, these songwriters gave their songs,
written to deal with their own reactions, as 'musical flowers'.
Congratulations on the $10,000 raised to date. That is great.
