About Jacqueline Schwab:

A Boston Globe correspondent recently wrote: "Jacqueline Schwab is one of
the most immediately recognizable pianists in America, although few people
actually know who she is." Her signature improvisations have been heard
internationally on numerous TV soundtracks, including Ken Burn’s acclaimed
PBS Series, Civil War and Baseball. She has performed at the White House and
at the Smithsonian during their American Presidency exhibit. She draws on
classical, traditional and dance music, and performs solo concerts of
vintage American music from Stephen Foster to Billie Holiday. Critics have
described her as a "brilliant pianist" (The Boston Globe); "a tremendous
colorist" (Sing Out! Magazine); "singular in folksy elegance" (The
Philadelphia Enquirer). She has three solo recordings, and has accompanied
singer Jean Redpath, Scottish fiddler Laura Risk and fiddler Alasdair
Fraser, among others. In addition to her solo and accompaniment work, she is
well-known in dance circles as the pianist with the Boston-based band, Bare
Necessities, with whom she has made eight recordings.
