[mplpost] Wade Hemsworth has died

This is indeed sad news. Wade Hemsworth was a special hero of mine, and I always 
think of him as being Stan Rogers' spiritual father. Wade was born and raised in 
Brantford, as I was, though I didn't find this out until I bought his wonderful songbook in 
1991. I regret that I never met him.

I have an old LP of Tom Kines, and if I ever want to make myself homesick, I put on 
his hauntingly beautiful rendition of "The Wild Goose". That, to me, would make a 
fitting Canadian anthem.

". . . At the last portage, when I'll pack no more,
Let me fly with the wild goose high over north shore,

With the wild goose,
The wild goose,
High over the north shore
And I'm going home."

Farewell, Wade - may you fly safely home at last.
