Hi Tony,

Happy for us, you are well-known in our home's CD player. Recently, the
FOLKBIZ list had some banter about this subject. I won't take the time
right now to search for the specific quotes. Rather, here's a summary...The
general consensus there was that most talent buyers are fairly low-tech and
are looking for the basics:

- a non CDR disc
- a ONE-PAGER with bio, press and reference info
- a photo (let's call it an image, and not get into what *kind* of photo...)
- CONTACT INFO ON **EVERY** PIECE OF MATERIAL!!!

Several higher-tech buyers commented on the fact that even they'd rather
not have to fiddle with various formats of video, dvd, CDR and CDR/W. Most
also mentioned that they'll only go to an artists' website if that artist
were new to them, and had already caught their attention in the tradtional
ways, or if they had heard of them through the industry grapevine.

So...what's the answer? Probably that you shoudn't *replace* the
traditional kit with the video. But, it's another nice tool in the box, and
might help with snagging a show. If you're going after the corporate event
scene, I bet it would be a real winner!

Please do tell us Mapleposters by summary what you find as you ask around.
Some of us are sure to be interested!

Best regards,
Peter
