COLIN LINDEN ENDS A BUSY YEAR
ON A HIGH NOTE AND KICKS OFF 2002
WITH MULTIPLE AWARD NOMINATIONS

2002 started with a flourish for award winning 
songwriter/musician/producer Colin Linden, with the announcement of 
the 44th annual Grammy Award nominations and the 5th annual Maple 
Blues Awards nominations. 
One of Canada's foremost musical talents, Colin Linden is involved in 
five Grammy Award nominations in the following categories. 

Best Country Female Vocal Performance - Lucinda Williams - "Cold, 
Cold Heart" - (Producer/Musician)

Best Country Album - "Timeless - The Songs Of Hank Williams" - 
("Cold, Cold Heart";  Producer/Musician)

Best Traditional Folk Album - "Down From The Mountain" -
Artist  (John Law Burned Down The Liquor Sto' w/ Chris Thomas King)

Best Traditional Folk Album - "Avalon Blues - The Music of 
Mississippi John Hurt" - Producer - "Avalon, My Home Town" (Bruce 
Cockburn) - Producer - "Angels Laid Him Away" (Lucinda Williams)

Best Contemporary Folk Album - "Poet - The Songs of Townes Van Zant" 
- Musician  (Lucinda Williams - "Nothing")

Colin was previously nominated for a Grammy Award for his work on "A 
Tribute To Howlin' Wolf" in 1999.  The same year he co-wrote "God 
Trying To Get Your Attention", featured on Keb' Mo's recording "Slow 
Down" which was also nominated for a Grammy Award that year in the 
Traditional Blues category.  Keb' Mo' recently performed the song on 
the highly rated CBS television show "Touched By An Angel".

Additionally, Colin has once again been nominated for two Maple Blues 
Awards in the following categories:

Blues With a Feeling Award - (Lifetime Achievement Award)

Producer of the Year - (Paul Reddick & The Sideman - "Rattlebag")

Colin is the proud recipient of four consecutive Maple Blues Awards 
for Producer of the Year for 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000, with a fifth 
award bestowed for SOCAN Songwriter of the Year in 1998.
  	In addition to his numerous awards nominations, Colin has 
also received four Juno Awards, a Toronto Arts Award (Music 
category), The Gabriel Award (UK) and two SOCAN awards.
The recent release of the new Bruce Cockburn, "Anything, Anytime, 
Anywhere" includes two new songs and two re-mixes produced by Colin 
Linden and Bruce Cockburn. 
March 12 will bring the release of the long awaited Stephen Fearing 
project, entitled "That's How I Walk" produced by Colin Linden & 
Stephen Fearing.
Colin also produced new albums for Susan Werner and Andy Scheinman 
which are also set for release in 2002. 

2001 was an exceptional year for Colin Linden. A career highlight was 
a live concert performance at Carnegie Hall in June, celebrating the 
highly successful theatrical release of "Down From The Mountain", a 
concert film shot by D.A. Pennebaker at the historic Ryman Auditorium 
in 2000. 
Colin also graced the pages of Rolling Stone Magazine in August with 
Chris Thomas King in a feature article about the runaway success of 
"O Brother Where Art Thou?" and "Down From The Mountain".
Colin's participation in both projects began in 1999 when his 
long-time friend T Bone Burnett enlisted his assistance to teach 
Chris Thomas King how to play Skip James' "Hard Time Killing Floor 
Blues" for the film.  Colin's instrumental version of the song is 
featured in the film "O Brother Where Art Thou?" 

Colin released his eighth studio album "Big Mouth", his most 
critically acclaimed and and successful solo artist project to date. 
"Big Mouth" earned rave reviews such as:  "Šan extraordinary set of 
15 root-blues originalsŠ"  The Toronto Star, and " a strong 
collection of songsŠan exceptional album" - The Ottawa Citizen.
"Big Mouth" featured guest appearances from friends Keb'Mo', Lucinda 
Williams, Lee Roy Parnell, Bruce Cockburn and Jonell Mosser.  Colin 
supported the release with tour dates in Canada with longtime 
associate Richard Bell and toured in the US with Keb'Mo'.
Colin's new video for "Wrong Side of the Bed" will be released and 
serviced to all video outlets this week.
