Acoustic Harvest has a tremendous treat in store for you at our next
concert. Mike Stevens is an acknowledged virtuoso on the harmonica. If you
have not already heard of this incredible musician, then you will soon, as
he is close to completing a Canadian broadcast deal for Harmonica
Crossing, a documentary about Mike by Brian W. White.

Mike transcends the perceived limitations of the harmonica in every
musical genre. His aggressive, soulful approach to this 'simple'
instrument takes audiences on an incredible journey. Best known for his
groundbreaking work with legendary Grand Ole Opry members "Jim & Jess"
(with whom he has performed on the Grand Ole Opry more than 300 times),
Mike was able to create an original, much sought after and copied style of
playing the harmonica.

Mike hails from Sarnia, Ontario. He has won the "Entertainer of the Year"
at the Central Canadian Bluegrass awards 5 consecutive years, after which
he was retired from the category. To his credit he adds many other
accolades, including "Best Selling Album of the Year" in 1992 for his
recording, "Blowin' Up A Storm".

In 1998 he released "Normally Anomaly", a blend of musical influences that
begins with a base of bluegrass, adds a healthy dose of blues, equal parts
of Gamelan music and Middle Eastern rhythms, and is performed live with no
samples or synthesizers. His latest release, "The World Is Only Air" on
Canada's acclaimed Borealis record label, consists of ten highly complex
fiddle tunes, and on many he plays in six different keys on the same
diatonic harmonica.

Mike is hightly entertaining in live performance, and we are pleased to be
able to welcome him to our club. If you miss this concert you will be
missing the entertainment opportunity of the year. And a double bonus is
that we have another harmonica player, with a totally different style,
singer-songwriter Clela Errington opening for Mike.

Hope to see you all on Feb. 16th.
Lillian, Sue, Dave, Matthew, Jason & Lydia-sound engineers extraordinaire.
