[mplpost] Canadian Guitars

Does anyone know if David Wren is still in the guitar making business? I
believe he apprenticed under either Jean Larrivee or Grit Laskin, and the
his guitars were available at the old Millwheel in downtown Toronto.

On a related note, I wish someone would publish a book on the genealogy of
the Canadian guitar (if it hasn't yet been done) tracing its evolution from
Larrivee's early handmade guitars, down through apprentices like Laskin and
Linda Manzer, with bios on each, and explaining how one guitar maker's
instruments was different from another. And also how other guitar makers
like Oscar Graf fit into the picture. Of course, the book would have to
have LOTS of pictures.
