Speaking of great instruments made in Canada, what about Fury Guitars
out of Sakatoon? Glenn McDougall has been turning out excellent
instruments since 1962 and is still in business. At 65 years of age
he still designs and manufactures his own picups, bridges, saddles,
nuts, bodies, necks, fingerboards, finishes, etc. As a matter of fact
he designed and built all the machines in his shop that assist him in
the manufacturing process. Someone should write his story.

>On a related note, I wish someone would publish a book on the genealogy of
>the Canadian guitar (if it hasn't yet been done) tracing its evolution from
>Larrivee's early handmade guitars, down through apprentices like Laskin and
>Linda Manzer, with bios on each, and explaining how one guitar maker's
>instruments was different from another. And also how other guitar makers
>like Oscar Graf fit into the picture. Of course, the book would have to
>have LOTS of pictures.

Good judgement comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from
bad judgement.
