[mplpost] Stanfest

Sorry, but had to jump in for 'Stanfest' (an ECMA nominee this year). An absolutely wonderful festival. Linda, myself & a crew from Barrie head down every year. The local people are wonderful & treat you like family. Accomodations are tough -  we have been adopted by the very sweet Mary & 'sleep' in her basement. Usually about 6 or 7 of us. She now says "when you come home..." It gets awful damp & cold at night. I may bring my parka this year. Our friend Jill was wrapped in a space/foil outfit in the crowd that drew the attention of Urban Carmichael -"There's someone out there wrapped up like a baked potato. Someone go and stick a fork in 'er & she if she's done!" in that PEI drawl of his. Mostly, the music is fabulous. Worth the trip. We start our summer outdoor festival season there, & end it at Eaglewood, another great festival.
