Greetings from K Town
The posters are up, the tickets are out, and we're ready to go with
another season of exciting live music in Kingston at the intimate
Octave Theatre. Here's the line-up:
Sat. Feb.23 - Connie Kaldor
She's been a favourite on the North American music scene for over
20 years and has earned the reputation as one of the best live
performers anywhere. Known as much for her wickedly humorous stories
as for her achingly beautiful ballads, Connie Kaldor just keeps getting
better. Her newest cd "Love is a Truck" is a collection of songs about
daughters turned mothers. We are absolutely delighted that Connie will
be our featured artist to open the 2002 series.
Opening for Connie will be Kingston's own Dympna Radford and her trio.
Sat. March 23- Jesse Winchester
After spending the 90's writing and taking a break from recording and
touring, Jesse is back with a renewed energy and some incredible new
material. His "Gentleman of Leisure" cd is a masterpiece. What a
treat it is to welcome this legend back to the Live Wire series.
Mark Reeves, an intensely engaging performer from Manitoba, will open
the show.
Sat. April 20 - Lynn Miles and Keith Glass
We finish off the series with a split show featuring Lynn Miles, one
of Canada's most captivating performers, and Prairie Oyster's Keith
Glass, who has recently launched a solo career. Lynn has a new cd
"Unravelled" which is just as quirky and beautiful as anything she has
previously released. Keith Glass, who is a very talented guitarist and
singer also has a new cd and is quickly making a name for himself on
the concert circuit.
We're absolutely thrilled to be able to present these artists in
Kingston. Get your series tickets early - they won't last long!
