Hi folks-- THis guitar thread is a real eye-opener for me--- it's a thrill
to discover that there are many more fine Canadian luthiers out there than I
knew about--- definately a book to be written... I can add two great
Northern Ontario makers, Glenn Reid and Peter Cox. I own instruments by both
of them.. very fine work.... here in Guelph we have the best guitar repair
guy anywhere, Mark Stuttman, he makes left-handed guitars...

While we're talkin' guitar talk....I'm thinking of getting a new pickup for
my old Martin D-18 ( yes, I know, an American guitar.. I thought I was
getting a Laskin as part of my signing bonus with Borealis Records! Oh well
)- anyway I've got a really nice 12th fret pickup in it now, but it's pretty
old and I keep seeing improvements on the market..something with a talent
knob would be nice.... any suggestions would be appreciated...

my first guitar was a Kent... but before that I played the 4-string banjo
really badly....

James
