Hi Steve
I bought my Canadian made classical guitar from Twelfth Fret (Toronto) a
couple of years ago. Its 'folklore': Steve Liethwood (sp?), then from the
Oshawa area, was apparently apprenticing with Sergei and they built it
circa. 1983-4, for Steve. At the Schusters' Y2K song-circle celebration,
Grit Laskin recognized the style of its head and its markings as being
Sergei's.
It's a lovely cut-away and sounds cello-mello - my portable baritone - stand
back Nelson Eddy! You and your listeners (OK, I couldn't resist...) can
hear it on my autumn 2001 released cd "No Place Like Home", most clearly in
songs: 'Evangeline' (where Paul Mills plays it) and 'The Spinning Wheel'
(where I play it). Enjoy!
In Harmony
